Globe4.5.bmpOriginally published in Monte Cook’s Arcana Unearthed, and later in Arcana Evolved, the faen are a happy and hedonistic people. They enjoy frivolity, music, good food and strong drinks. They do not place much value in social niceties and do not look kindly upon others telling them how to live their lives. Strongly independent of mind and will, faen are often viewed by others as a closed people – happy to enjoy the company of their own, but unwilling to allow others to join them.

There are three distinct ethnicities of faen. Quicklings are 3 feet tall and slender, with overlarge eyes, lean faces and ears that peak above the head. Loresong are almost 4 feet tall and of a heavier build. The men frequently wear beards or large bushy sideburns and wear their long hair in elaborate braids. Sprytes are much smaller, few of them are taller than 18 inches. They have fine silky wings that beat with blinding speed to keep them in the air. They are slender and lean and blessed with a delicate beauty. It is important to note, that despite their name (and appearance), the faen are not Fey, but because they live in the Feyen Isles alongside and within the Seelie Court itself they bear a very close resemblance to true fairies.
