Bio:

Appearance

A slight, unassuming figure of a sibeccai. Ali has a wiry frame and thin, unhealthy looking fur. He is a constant fidget, clasping his hands, sitting down, standing up, sitting down, pacing…

Backstory

Ali worked very hard to get where he is today. He dragged himself up by the bootstraps, born on the streets of Banu in abject poverty he worked hard in the open-air sooks. As a runner-boy, a guide, then a tinker, an itinerant buyer and seller of whatever came his way. Then a market stall holder with a permanent pitch, and finally a membership to the Prestigious Summonel House of Commerce.

When the opportunity came to join the first caravan heading out to the frontier town of Yhakkoth to establish a new marketplace, Ali took it took it eagerly. Finally a chance to get in on the ground level and truly establish his influence. Ali joined the wagon train of merchants leaving Banu, his wares and stocks bundled carefully atop a giant desert turtle and his ambitions cradled in his heart.

And then the pirates struck.

Was he lucky to have lived? Sometime Ali wishes he had died. He lost everything that he had worked his entire humble life to gain, and he has been beaten and humiliated for a month at the hands of tougher men than he. Ali would often stand up to defend Sara and Jamila’s honor at the hands of the pirates, but he was a trader, not a fighter and he could only take so many beatings.

Current Status

Now free, but still aboard the Princess Parizade, Ali has taken a room in the Passenger Quarters. He spends much of his time in his room alone, although he helps to prepare meals and joins the others to eat. At night, he cries himself to sleep in guilt and grief.
